BX25d FEL Float?

Best use for float mode is in scraping along the ground, like shoveling snow or sand. In this case, you do not want to penetrate the surface of hard terrain, just skim along between the material on top and the hard pack underneath. Pretty cool that you can use the back of the bucket for dragging along in float mod as well; does a real nice shine on leveling out loose material!!

I can assure you there is no "float" for the dump/curl circuit.

I can assure you MY 2009 has dump/curl down float......if that is the correct terminology. You have to force the leaver to the 3 o'clock position as mentioned above to activate it.

Sir, that is called the "regen" or "regenerative" AKA "fast dump" detent you are feeling, it is NOT called float. Actually on a Kubota you are getting out of the regen position when you push past that detent as its active in the first part of the throw. Here is a great description: http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/kubota-buying-pricing/9403-3-position-valve-vs-4-a.html

A search of the term "regen" will also turn up hours of great reading.

Float means that both ports of the valve are open to the tank, so the fluid from the cylinder(s) can move freely in and out-thus allowing the loader to "float" or follow the terrain better.

Kenny, as I said I am not sure of the correct terminology but it sure feels like it is free falling on mine and not using any hydraulic assistance but maybe I am wrong. I used it today while snow clearing. It looks as if I could go and lift the bucket freely while the leaver/joystick is in that position.

OK, so that is the 12:00 position, and that is indeed "float" but its on the lift/lower circuit, not the dump/curl circuit. The lever should stay in the float position when activated also.

Yep, in 12 oclock position it does stay and agreed that is float but I am talking about the 3 oclock position. I cant recall if the leaver stays but I will check tomorrow. It is in this position the bucket seems to free-fall thus the feeling of float as well if it were lying on the ground.

Thanks for correcting me, Kenny. In my limited understanding of tractors (this is the first and only I've ever owned), I know how to use it but thought of it as a float position.
