Yep! that's how it's done.Push hard forward on the stick and it will go into float or it's tore up. Some people do it in two steps or movements but you don't have to. Just push it hard forward. You may "feel" the two positions but you don't have to do them.
There is a float position at 3 o'clock. It's for dumping the bucket. I don't use it very often. But is does come in handy on occasion.
I have a question about using the float. I am getting ready to dig out a hill under my deck with the fel, I mounted teeth on the fel, whn i go into scoop or dig should i go low and use the float method?

I think the best answer is to just play with it. Try different bucket angles, float, speed, etc. and see what works. This is how you get proficient. A lot of it depends on your soil, terrain, and what you are trying to do. Just go for it and have fun. You will get the feel pretty fast.I have a question about using the float.
