Greetings, does the new BX25 have a float function? If so, how does it work? I saw mention of it in the manual, but could not find mention of how to put the bucket in float. Thank you...

Probably by pushing the lever forward till it stops, then push it farther, and it will snap into float position and stay. It helps to try it with the engine off until you get used to it.

Push the stick forward, 12:00. Then push again, and you will feel a click. You can practice, by leaving the bucket off the ground. Then push forward to the click and watch the bucket drop.

Push hard forward on the stick and it will go into float or it's tore up. Some people do it in two steps or movements but you don't have to. Just push it hard forward. You may "feel" the two positions but you don't have to do them.

what i do is push it forward till it seems to stop and give it a nice short "snap" forward past that resistant force. I love the float mode, i use it in so many situtations, i just dont think about it. i just use it when needed.

That's called a "detent" in the valve when you push it all the way forward into float.

Yep! that's how it's done.

There is a float position at 3 o'clock. It's for dumping the bucket. I don't use it very often. But is does come in handy on occasion.

Thats called "regen" or "fast dump", very much different than "float"

Kenny is right. And it's not mentioned in my manual either. It's kinda implied that tractor owners knows this as its pretty much universal with fels.

I have a question about using the float. I am getting ready to dig out a hill under my deck with the fel, I mounted teeth on the fel, whn i go into scoop or dig should i go low and use the float method?
Thanks

Don't think so. When you're digging into virgin or hard ground, you want the bucket to penetrate as far as it will go before curling it back to get a full scoop. Using float will cause the bucket to ride up over what you're trying to dig out if it's not loose material. Once you have things dug out and close to level, you can use float to just skim along the ground to pick up loose material. Good luck.

I think the best answer is to just play with it. Try different bucket angles, float, speed, etc. and see what works. This is how you get proficient. A lot of it depends on your soil, terrain, and what you are trying to do. Just go for it and have fun. You will get the feel pretty fast.
