OK!
So I will be going with local dealer, just getting the credit lined up now. Anyone else have any input for me?
Hope yours goes better than mine did-or shall I say, didn't go.

Did you have problems with the credit? My credit isn't the best so who knows. Mahindra wanted to check my credit before I even talked with them. They approved me, but who knows about Kubota,
Credit problems? No, not lately. A few years ago, I had the problem of too little history. Kubota didn't say "yes" or "no", initially, they had follow-up questions. While the salesman had the analyst on the phone, everything was going fine, then the analyst took a turn. He decided I needed to put down 15% (just under $3,000). The reasons given were: Balances too high (nothing is maxed out, only one credit card has over 50% balance; others have around 20%; some are balance free; some are store cards with no interest), Too much recent debt acquired (I bought a house and a new, to me, truck, May 2013). He said I would be approved, if I had a co-signer. I explained that I have no one to co-sign for me, and yes, I do utilize credit offers; especially, zero interest offered by many merchants. I asked if my credit score was okay and he said it was fine (737), but he wanted to see money down. I offered $1,000, but after thinking about it, for a few moments, he went back to insisting on $15%.
I left, embarrassed. The salesman was great about it; especially, after I wasted three hours, of his time, half of which was after they closed. I had told him all my debts and my credit score, before applying and he was sure it would be a quick approval. Some of us have speculated the analyst was just eager to leave (we submitted it after 5, and were on the phone with him after 6; they go home, at 7) after a long day. By all accounts, they have been busy, the last couple of weeks.
I am still in shock. The John Deere dealer already approved me, for their similar model. My local bank also approved me. My credit score is good and I have no collections or blemishes, on my record. I've been looking for tractors for 1.5 years and really looking to buy, in the last six months. It took me a couple of arduous months to decide what, exactly, I wanted and what dealer I wanted to buy from.
Now, I guess I'll have to resign myself to taking the bank's 2.99% offer and getting $500 off the Kubota-skipping their financing; buy used using the bank's offer; buy a similar JD model for $4K more; buy a MF for $3K more and go dealer shopping (and see if they will approve me). It will take me too long to come up with the extra $2,000, to get the Kubota and I'm already behind on my projects. My rhizomes arrived, yesterday, and need planted ASAP. I was supposed to pick the unit up, Friday, and prep the ground Friday, to plant over the weekend. I'll be lucky to get everything ready, by May, with a shovel. Not to mention my other projects.
