Looking to buy the Kubota tool box but would really like to mount it to the right side due to access concern/desire. In 4Shorts historic thread:

http://www.tractorbynet.com/forums/kubota-owning-operating/275347-bx25d-mod-1-continued.html

I believe he modded a stock unit for mounting on the right side. Does anyone know if this is an easy thing to do? Unfortunately Paul seems to have gone dark for unspecified reasons so I am reaching out to the rest of you.

What are you planning to carry? I used PVC piping with caps for my toolbox and mounted on FEL posts. One side is for chains and other for pliers, clips, screwdriver and wrench. Here is old old old pics before I painted it orange. bolt holder.jpgbx24 toolbox.jpgtools inside (3).jpg

As I recall, the mount came as 2 pieces welded together and he cut the weld, reversed one piece and rewelded. If you have a welder it would be a piece of cake.

Don't but a great excuse to get one. Oh boy... another thingy needed to support my tractor. I suppose I should borrow one for now. Haven't welded in 30 years but eager to pick up a MIG and start again.

I never said anything in his thread but how would you get fuel in it especially out of a can if the toolbox was on the right side?

Maybe an Aha moment! Need to look at that... thanks Roger. Just assuming that if 4Shorts did the mod that it would be well thought through. Got to think there isn't an interference.

I got this from the Dollar Store for, what else?, a dollar. It's leveled with a scrap piece of composite decking and held by a couple of UV- resistant zip ties.

I think it depends on how you fuel your tractor. I use a pump that drops into my fuel can so it would have no impact on me. If you siphoned it in, no problem. But if you used a funnel and Jerry can it might be a problem. I don't think Paul did anything without thinking it through. It's just that his mods suit him and his tractor. They may not necessarily suit everyone.

Well 4shorts had a youtube video showing a fuel station with a pump so he doesnt need to put the can in the back to fill up like I do.
