Thanks for all the suggestions guys. I think Im going to go with a 48". The 60" that I borrowed from my friend was very beastly. It man-handled my BX around. Power wise, my tractor ran it with ease and then some, I didnt even have to run it full. Dimension and weight wise, I could not steer the tractor without the loader on it. Even then it was somewhat light in the front. I guess I just want a little bit more maneuverability.

I agree, you probably cant go wrong with any of the brands mentioned. I will just see who has the best deal out there. Whatever I get though, It would be nice to have it in Kubota Orange :D

also, my freshly cleaned deck, complete with tension spring removed for storage, and rust check lightly sprayed on pulleys/pivots.

Land Pride offers theirs in brown green and Kubota orange; don't know about the others. I also went with the slip clutch on mine.

If it were me I would buy the land pride/kubota paint 48 inch flail mower with the slip clutch PTO shaft.

We are on our thirtieth year with the current flail mower we have.

A fourty eight inch flail mower with hammer knives is a mower that will not bog down in heavy growth and will also cut fine grass on a lawn and leave little residue.

The design of the flail mower for any flail mower for that matter picks the material up as it cuts it and carries it over the rotor assembly ans throws it back down to the ground eliminating any possibility of causing injury or property damage as every thing is contained in the housing and cannot be thrown out at someone or act as a projectile.
