Sheet metal looks pretty decent. What's the funky thing above the PTO, where the belt pulley attaches..??

Now, if it only had Fast-Hitch... Guess we can't have everything...

judging by the torch marks on the plate, I'd say it was blanked off by the prev owner.

Farmall's are fun--I have two (1948 Cub, 1951 Super A).

i have a 66 cub, one of the first sn's after the conversion to a 12v system. she has the square nose metal, not the round one.. etc.

hope to have fun and learn alot on this C.

Already see I will be pulling the front off pedistal and all to yank the crank pulley and timing cover as soon as I get a suitable bearing seperator plate..

I'm probably heading that way on my 1948 Cub. Lapped the valves. Did the cylinder leak down test--valves seem to be OK, but still too much leakage.

Checked engine compression wet. The best I could get was 70 psi on cyl #1. The other three were between 50 and 60 psi. The book says 105-120 psi. The head gasket is new, but may not be sealing between cyl 2 and 3. Looks like either a DIY ring job or, maybe, just pull the engine and ship it to the machine shop for a professional job.

Like I said--old Farmall's are tons of fun.

I got the bearing seperator yesterday, ordered all my seals and gaskets for the engine and pto, am ordering the manuals today.. picking up some allthread to make a crank pulley - puller backing plate for a bottle jack.. will probably start taking tin off this afternoon.

If I'm not mistaken, you have a "distillate" manifold on your C...does the tractor have an "extra" small fuel tank? BobG in VA
