Cab A/C problem

I have a 2002 Kubota L5030 HSTC with about 1800 hrs. The A/C works fine until the outside temp gets to about 99 degrees or so, then it just starts blowing hot air. Any ideals on what I should look for. Thanks.

Sounds like it may be a low charge of freon. Usually this will cause the condenser coils to freeze up and hot air blows. Does it blow cold after turning the AC off for awhile (thawing out)?

G'day it could be a high charge prob causing the pressure switch to turn the system off to protect it or it could also be a thermal switch shutting down the system ( gas too hot ). Have you pulled your condensor away from the front of the radiator and given it and the radiator a good clean out??.

5030's are notorious for weak ac output when the ambient temperatures are high. I know, I had one. A good solution is to shroud the space between the condensor and the front of the radiator with rubber strips attached to the framework. That allows more air flow through the condensor, something that the stock confoguration lacks. Adding a layer of foil bubble foil insulation to the top of the underside of the cab roof also helps. There is no insulation on the underside of the cab roof and the sun significantly heats the orange plastic, making a marginal ac work all the harder.

You also need to be keeping the nets clean and the radiator and condensor blown out and clean, like in more than once per day.

Improving airflow through the condensor, keeping the heat exchangers clean and some overhead insulation will go a long way toward keeping you cool on the hottest days.

Thanks for the replies, I really have not done much in the way of troubleshooting. I will try your suggestions this weekend.
