Cab Owners - How well does your A/C work?

2006 L3430HSTC. While NY is nowhere near as hot as Texas, I've been in it on some really hot days and never wanted it colder.

My LS keeps it plenty cool or warm as needed. My brother in laws New Holland burned up the compressor within 6 months of new which was warranted and last month he had to put in more Freon but no leaks were found. His tractor is about 4 year old and with Freon topped up, it will freeze you out.

I ran an Allis Chalmers 8050 yesterday bush hogging for about 4 hours in 90 degree heat...
Cool as a cucumber...
30 year old tractor with 4500 hours and she works real good...
Most modern tractors today have ample cooling capacity in the radiator and AC condenser to keep you comfortable even in the hottest weather...
The air ducts are blowing the cold air directly on your head...
A cool head equals a cool body...
I do second the tinting suggestion...
Once you get a cab you will not go back...
Honest...

B3030HSDC. It'll freeze you out.

Had the same tractor. Same result with the A/C.
Although my skid steer has A/C, I have yet to use it because I have the cab door out of it all summer. I generally don't need to be in it for long enough periods of time to need the air conditioner. Winter is a little different. I can pretty much blow snow all day in a T shirt because the heater works so well.

GL4060 bought new this spring. TN weather ain't pleasant this time of year. So far I haven't had it higher than 2 on the fan speed dial.

I have a L3940 with 550 hrs and it keeps you really comfortable even when it above 90. I've had no problems with it at all.

Mine works well for sure;need to turn it on when it hits 65 degrees due to all the glass.

Thanks for all the responses, folks. Sounds like those Kubota a/c units are sized appropriately to do the job.

I should have posted this in the general forum since I'm considering other brands too (although I'm lusting after the L4740 the most).

I used an old 1066 a couple of summers and you could throw a cat through the cracks in the cab and that thing would freeze me out. This summer I baled straw with a JD 6320 and at mid '80 it got hot in there, the next day, I blew out the screens and the condenser and it was better, but just barely comfortable. I think the new freon is not nearly as good as the old R12, however my cars with the new stuff works really well.
