HEAT!!!!! installed my heater today i could not believe the whole kit was made in USA. it even came with a template to drill all the holes, made it very easy and fast. the only disapointment was that i could not mount the switch in the dash minimum 3" clearance for the heat resistors on the back of the switch so i made a bracket. the switch has hi,med,& low. i had to put cardboard in front of the radiator to get good heat, hopefully this will be enough when it gets cold.

Time to make a set of shutters like the big rigs have! That would be a cool project.

that would be cool. the radiator has a removable screen that slides in a groove i think i will make something that replaces the screen for winter.

I have been thinking about you heater install pictures. I see that you have the return line going into the top radiator hose. I would think that would bypass the t-stat and increase engine warm up time. If it was on the bottom line the warm coolant would go back into the warming engine instead of a cold radiator. What do the rest of you think about this theory?

the thermastat is not bypassed(bad picture)the hose to the right is teed into a small hose that runs from the pump to the neck with the thermastat then is dumped into the top hose when it opens.i originally teed into top & bottom hoses with no success. so i had to plug the bottom hose tee after i cut it @#$%%^ oh well it gave me another drain.then i routed that hose to the pump.

Just a little note on my cab, please dont take this as a bragging spree. I finally got the tractor out the past three days doing loader work & using my pull grader & to test the cab out with about 15hrs. With temps in the 30's i did not need the heater on just the fan to keep from fogging up.I am guessing when it gets could my heater will be adequate. I flexed the tractor over ditches & rattled the cab banging the dirt out of the bucket to try & find problem areas the only thing i found is when i put the bucket on the ground to park it puts enough pressure on the door jam striker plate to make it stick a little, this is do to the fact i have the frame attached to the loader subframe.If i float the bucket to relieve hydrualic pressure the door moves freely (cab builders keep this in mind) if attaching to loader subframes. A little grinding will take care of this.Other than that the cab is working great,but time will tell.Now we need cold & snow to put it to its real test.I will keep posting pictures as i finish odds & ends on the cab & any problems that come up to help other cab builders.

Ready for more snow. I did my first plowing last night at 7:00 pm it was 18 degrees outside & it was 70 degrees inside the cab. The 12,500 BTU heater makes plenty of heat for my cab.The extra lighting up high really makes a big differance to. With cold & snow here now the work & money to build the cab will be paying me back in comfort. I did add up my cost for the cab build with receipts and a rough guess of what it will cost to finish -wiper motors,window/door shocks,this does not include my time or consumables.Total cost will be about $1,500.00
