Hey Folks,

Just traded up from my little Kioti CS2410 to a Kubota B3350 with a cab. Any recommendations for tinting the glass? AC works great, but still get those lobster arms by the end of the day.

Thanks, JimB

So far how do you like your B 3350? I'm trading my B2920 for a B 2650 with cab. I chose the 2650 to stay away from the emission devices on the 3350. I have sat in a B series with cab and as I remember the glass is tinted a little. If i were to tint it I would want pro to do it with the curves in the glass. Pictures of your new toy would be nice

There have been a couple of members, one recently who added tint to theirs and report good results. I agree with having it done professionally.

I plan on having one done this winter when I can have the time to park it and take the parts in as getting the whole machines in are problematic.

As my sig says.. I'm a tinter. I own one of the largest shops in the North east. Lots of options with window film. Do you use it at night ? Are you light sensitive ? Are you trying to stop heat and glare or just heat ? Does the tractor stay outside or is it stored indoors ? And of course budget.

All very good points. Our ex-son in law is in the same business and has done all of our tinting. Before getting ours done, I had no idea there were so many things to consider.

My Uncle used to be in the tinting business (sold out to his partner to pursue, of all things, farming) but they did Automotive as well as Residential / Commercial window tinting so some of those guys might be willing / able to come to you instead.

Especially if you're not in a rush, they can work you in when they have slow time. Never hurts to call around and ask.

Thanks for the information, I'd sure give it some thought, but I don't pay for any tinting or glass work; long story.

It's my understanding that silver reflective tint is illegal in some jurisdictions for cars and trucks that are driven on the highway.

In your experience does it offer enough of a benefit - in terms of I/R rejection and heat gain - to make it worth considering for a tractor that is not driven on the road ?

I don't think I would tint the front glass due to decreased visibility. Sides and back should be enough to keep majority of light and heat away. If tinting the front glass, leave the area where you are looking at the FEL bucket ( bottom half) clear. The visibility on cabs is already bad for loader work and tinting may make it impossible to see especially in shaded areas.
