Cabela's Tractors

Does anyone have a close up pic of the starter and the wires going to it. There are 2 post and a male spade on the side of the starter. Something equivalent to the tym 353. Thx
Gary

Ask one of the guys in this thread who owns one, to shoot a pic of the connections, and to detail the wire colors to each connection. I'm sure they would be glad to help you on the specifics. If they can't or won't do it, the dealer who Sawyer Rob mentions could do it from one of the tractors in his shop, possibly. If you get the details post it here with pics and wire color codes, when you're done to help others....

I think this is on Bass Pro. They bought the business with all the good and bad. They knew this was coming and a decision on how to handle it was made. I doubt that the tractor guy from Cabellas was in on it at all. If I was Rural King, I would be breathing down TYM managements neck as they are hurting them since they also sell rebranded TYM tractors.

You are correct regarding the TYM dealers not wanting to help. I have struggled with even finding a dealer to just do normal service. The wiring diagrams are the same as the TYM and can be found online. You would need to cross reference the tractor by size and year to the TYM branded tractors. The parts have the same numbers stamped as the TYM because it is a TYM tractor painted green with a leather Cabelas seat. The big problem is TYM dealers don't want to sell you parts and TYM USA will not either. they are protecting their dealers, however their dealeis wont wok on the tractors.

There is a new dealer in Clayton. It is Hudson Hardware. I am curious to see how long they remain a dealer. Every time I find one they end up dropping the line for some reason. Maybe TYM just plain sucks.........What that old saying.... "You get what you pay for". I sure did!lol

Interesting..now that RK is selling TYM tractors I've mentioned that this might occur...RKGuy says it won/t but he's a company man. Since RK has abandoned two previous attempts at tractor sales I wouldn't be surprised if htey do it again..and it would appear TYM wont offer much support on fixing non-tym branded equipment.

Since some TYM's are rebranded as Mahindra, maybe a mahindra dealer would be more helpful?

I guess you didn't pay attention to why RK isn't still selling Masseys?

It appears to me, Massey moved in another direction, not the other way around...

I don't believe that was the case - just as Bass Pro didn't buy the credit card division of Cabelas. Bass Pro specifically DID NOT WANT anything to do with tractors - which was why Cabela's suddenly discontinued tractor sales just as they were getting service departments all trained and prepared.

I believe that The tractors and their liability and warranty all go back to the responsibility of the Cabela's family and any of the insider owners. Everything was clearanced before BAss Pro took over for that exact reason. jmho

and TYM may do the same...I'm assuming their dealers are not happy with RK as competition, and TYM if they expand their own sales will at some point reach capacity in production...so who gets shorted on merchandise, their own dealers or RK? If they have a fixed sales figure with RK then it will be their own dealers...who won't be happy and may jump ship.

All is good and happy until it's not.

I'd never heard of RK until late last year when they announced they were opening a store here. It opened in April. Customer service is typical big box store...sketchy.

I'll bet TYM won't be limiting tractors to RK any time soon, if ever!

They can limit them to Mahindra, Zetor and others first as they aren't carrying a full line of TYM tractors (and don't want to) like RK is working to do...

If RK keeps selling lots of tractors, TYM is going to want to keep them around!

If it were me, and I was RK, or any other company wanting to sell a line of tractors, I would do one of two things, go to tym and offer to sell their tractors, and let the current dealers do service, (yeah, some incentives due maybe) or if rebrand, still get tym dealers involved with service. Might be hard, but I think it could be worked out. More tym tractors, more to service and work on..

RK is like Walmart to TYM. They are big, can demand a lot, and eventually push TYMs other customers out of the picture (TYM USA dealers). Once TYM committed to RK, they sold their soul in a way and are letting RK compete with the TYM USA network. IMO, this is more likely to end up with RK being the face of TYM here in the US and taking over all sales and service of TYM tractors. If RK can pull it off that would be a win for TYM, RK, and tractor buyers who are shopping price.
