Cabela's Tractors

QUOTE=Scott1164;5192906]So still waiting on their Corporate office to pay for the repairs. the service manager Scott Burnett is no longer there. I found this out when I called to check on the reimbursement. I am kicking myself for buying this tractor. Scott told the GM that I had been taken care of. Cabelas customer service really sucks. On another note, I am really thinking about selling it since I am concerned about repairs down the road.

So I got my email from Cabelas GM. They said the local TYM dealer ripped me off when they ordered the parts(that Cabelas couldn't get) and that they were up to 700% markup. Not sure where they were getting their actual parts cost from, but I am assuming TYM Korea with no middle man mark up. With that said I am getting a check for $974.49 on a $4,000 parts bill. Way to go Cabelas......you suck......small claims court here we go......Oh what fun.[/QUOTE]Any update on this? Curious as to any outcome.
Thanks

So Cabelas could not order a part from a dealer? They might not be able to order directly from TYM and mark it up themselves anymore. But they could order from a dealer. They would just be a customer. There might be some dealers that might not sell to them but I’m sure they could have found one. Sorry for all your troubles with Cabelas doing the wrong thing. They have lost my business for the way they handled these tractor nightmares.

How can Cabela's loose your business?
Isn't Cabela's all gone?
I think they were merged into Bass Pro shops, and I don't believe that Bass Pro sells tractors.

Giving this thread a bump to see if there have been any significant developments since the last post on anyone's experience with getting a warranty claim addressed on a tractor purchased from Cabela's. I purchased an LM55H in May of 2016 from my local Cabela's here in Atlanta. I have been using a local TYM dealer for PM work, and they are great. No issues with the tractor until this past weekend, and I may need to contact Cabela's for the repair so I was hoping someone had some positive news to share on that front.

Sadly, from a support perspective, "Cabela's" has been of zero value add with my tractor. Efforts to locate anyone who would entertain questions pertaining to my Cabela's tractor was extremely difficult at best, and ultimately, yeilded no fruit.
In fact, getting anyone to perform basic maintenance and service on my Cabela's tractor has been a nightmare. Essentially, my experience has been I have been left to me own devices for all things pertaining to the Cabela's tractor I purchased a couple of years back. When the tractor works, it's a antastic little machine.
However, when there is an issue.... Cabela nor TYM have provided much of any support. Truly, the only negative I have about the tractor, is the void of support, I can deal with the electrical issues and what not.... but onluy if there is a support network to which I can turn to when needed.
This is my experience and my perspective alone, others may have a totally different response. For what it is worth, I am located in North Carolina, near Fort Bragg.
Good luck and thank God for the members on this board, they are the only support I have found. :)

Really the same here. I've documented a couple of times about my cracked fuel tank (defective sonic weld at the fuel gauge sender hole. I did get cabelas right at deadline to get me a tank, I actually have a second one, they sent two by mistake. the other issues, (mine really, not defective parts) involved me spending a lot of time finding parts. I had a bearing break on my mid mower gearbox, took a lot of effort to find internal parts. U joint for same was difficult, found full drive, but didn't want to spend for that.
also switch for break lights did fail, I think it was diesel fuel related as it was drenched several times from the tank leak. was able to find that relatively easily. Use TYM crossover numbers mainly and usually tell the dealer just the number. Oh, mid mower bearings on the belt drive needed replacing last fall, those ended up being hard to get as there are only a few out there.

In my opinion, resale on these would be about same as a grey market tractor. I'll keep mine till it breaks and I can't fix. really not much different than my original plan or what I do with my vehicles.

Talk to Tony at Smith's in Rebel City. He has helped me get parts that I needed. I had a wheel bearing go out and he gave me the parts list and then ordered what I needed. He told me he would work on anything that I couldn't repair myself. I still need to replace my display but $$$ for the part so I keep putting it off. I also have a leaking steering wheel shaft sill. Not bad but I am going to repair it at some point this summer. Good luck with it.

Just an update. I still have the tractor. Around 900 hours now. I had to replace bearings in both front wheels. Caused by snap ring breaking and wheel and axle stub coming out. TYM upgraded the snap ring to a better design. The steering shaft stop leaking on its on. I never did replace the display, just live with it being dark. Both rear axle seals leak if the tractor sits very long. Couple of loader rams are leaking a little, need resealing.

Likewise ,I've still got mine. I finally broke down and bought a zero turn mower 2 years ago, and gave up on using the belly mower. Ztr is 3x as fast as the tractor with a better finish. So I'm only at 400 hours on the tractor, low use, but it moves lots of stuff with forks that would be hard on my otherwise, and it tills fine. No major issues, it truly hates cold weather, below 25f and i have to really work to get it to crank..... glow plugs not all working. It's useful and i don't need to replace, but I don't shop at bass pro much either...

Its the reason I'd NEVER buy a tractor from a place like tractor supply,Menards, or anyone that doesn’thave a vested interest past selling it. Repairs are hard, parts can be a bear to find.,
