Property automaticly posted. No can go on private property without written permission on their person. Go on agricultural property with a gun and it is a felony, period. A fence alone is proof positive that you did not want anyone on your property, it need not be posted by a sign.
No castle doctrine, no need to retreat, if you feel threatened on your property, shoot the SOB.
That is Florida guys and is what the anti gun crowd got their drawers in a wad over, it is the law in the sunshine state, plus the right to carry, unless a real good reason can be found to deny a permit.
We have red wolves at the farm and I ride the farm with a Mini-14 on the tractor or cart at all times. Plus a handgun in plain sight on my hip. Nice advertising when I mow along the fence, even outside, I am on my property. Most folks notice the guns very quickly.
I have farm 12 ft tube gates, a chain and a combination lock with 6x6 posts sunk four ft in poured cement. We have not had much problem in 2 + years. I also have a mile of 5 strand high tinsel wire fence.

Short of a prison wall/fence,,no fence or gate or front door will keep somebody out that wants in,so,,regular gate regular lock with some posted signs is about all you can do,the rest you got to be around yourself,no treaspasser or thief is scared of signs or wire or gates or doors,they are just worried about whats on the other side.
I got a couple little paths/roads that come out to a better road,I just made a one strand barbed wire gate,no it won't keep any body out,but neither will anything else,and if they move that wire to get in,they have just broken and entered my property,and than they have to deal with me,after they have knowingly broken and entered,so far,no body has touched those wires but me

Used to be a local option, by township. Then the suburban gun nuts got it on a ballot, and took that option away from the townships. This past Easter sunday, some idiots were shooting @ 9 am, just blasting away with pistols. They were a couple hundred yards away, over a hill. I just yelled at them " It's freakin Easter Sunday!!! Easter sunday!!!" They quit for the day. ( I yelled out some other things I won't mention here )
You have to have written permission in wv to hunt on land that is not yours,I do believe,mines posted in any case.
Yeah,hunting season starts here about 1st oct or so and don't end till about jan,,[deer,squarrel,rabbit,turkey,,one season stops for a while,than starts again,at same time another season is in,,people who don't hunt but like to walk and stuff need at least one day to not have to worry about getting shot in those 3+ months,[and I hunt].
