I went hog wild and bought a met kit 821 and just finished it except for the paint which will have to wait for warmer weather. Atached garages are not good for painting and other smelly things, just ask my wife. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

Way to go.
My buddy and I are getting close to finishing our 821 as well. What a great project. Hopefully we will be ready to paint in another month or two. (we are just doing P/T one night a week but, as we get closer to the end (or the beginning of actually using it) I suspect we may find a little more time to devote.

went out and dug with it today. I'm impressed good power and fast enough for me. digging a few stumps. Your going to like the 821. First big project is to dig a 30' by 55' basment for my son. that should pretty well put it to the test..

<font color="black"> </font> cost was over $3200. It was a kit and I had my own motor. took nearly 50lbs of welding rod to put it together. It was a fun project /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Thanks for the photos. Makes me even more anxious to get ours finished.
Question on the seat - did you go with the low back seat because it was what you had on hand or for some other reason. We are discussing our seat arrangement tonight - my buddy is about 5'8" and I am 6'2" so we want to make it height adjustable for sure. We were also thinking about a suspension approach with a compressed spring inside a pipe and we thought of something with a higher back, maybe even a "recycled" car seat. Any thoughts based on your ever increasing experience??

The seat is what they supplied with the kit. I don't have alot of seat time yet but my thought is not to put a high back seat on, reason is this thing can buck. It has enough power to lift the back end at will and the ride down is a bit bumpy. also walking the machine is around is quite a ride also. I'm sure I will get smoother in time but for now hang on. I am 6'5" and also thought I might put a bushing under the seat. I made one change I added a couple of foot rests for safty. my feet could easly get into the swing cylinders. you want to check that on yours when you get to the point. have fun /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
