Did't he put the safety stantions under it? Boy, if we even thought of going under a JBD without the stantions in place the Bos'n would have our butts in a sling.

We had a AD2 Filipino guy who went thru the port engine of a S-3A on the USS Enterprise. Came out in pieces, saw the color photos as a CAG Staffer.

To anyone who has spent time aboard the USS Saratoga cv-60. i would like to find out if anyone ever got sick from drinking the freshwater and showers tainted with jp-5 jet fuel. the drinking water in the galleys was mixed with wylers or what we called bug juice. Times after taking showers you could wipe some jp-5 off your skin. The Navy is trying to tell me that it never happened. some goods times aboard the SARA tough. enjoyed Egypt and pyramids a lot. Thanks keep on tractoring.

I deployed 4 times on the Sara...I know about the bug juice and all that. Never had any physical problems from my time on her...

WVBill--On board the USS Hancock CVA-19----My plane captain partner & I were trying to make it across the deck to the pig pen drop our tie-down Chains and bag off when we got caught by an A3 turning up on the Starboard Cat. We were picking up speed pretty good as we skipped down the deck until we were brought to an abrupt halt by the parked Crash Truck. We both bounced off and landed flat on our backs and then continued to lay there in the HOT Jet wash until the bird was launched(did I say that it was HOT?). We then dropped off the Chains and went to chow. We both got caught and stuck at the pig pen one time when an F8 with afterburner turned up.........That was really HOT. Just another day of OPS on the Hanna, at the time the oldest Attack Carrier in the Fleet(WWII).
