Maka,
I have a TAFE 3600 and a Landtrac 550, both LG machines. I have about 200 hours on the 3600 and have used the heck out of it, I am impressed with it. Just bought the Landtrac, because of the quality of the TAFE. For my money these things are a great buy.
I know it is frustrating, but be the better person! (I am sure you will) The old saying that goes something like; "I thought he was an "idiot" ,(you may insert other words also), and when he opened his mouth and started talking all doubt was removed.", sounds like that might fit with this guy. He will sink his own boat, rational people figure these things out pretty quickly. Best of luck to you with this situation! Bible says," pray for those who oppress you," tuff prayer, but it works!

Thanks Dancee, Casey, Lenar guy and all the rest. The ads subsided last week and hopefull things will just settle down with this person. I did have to respond and tried to do so with some element of class. I did not roll over and decided the best way was to start to publish a spec for spec comparison on each model.

We took out ads that were based simply on specs and started the ads off stating that the specs were taken directly from each manufacturer. I have to say that it is a distraction when this type of stuff happens but as all of you have said, people see through it. I have had more people come in to see what the hub-bub was about and have had some great opportunities to talk to people about our products. I am just waiting to see what they do next.

Thanks,
Maka

The front axle housing casting on my TYM T330 is easily twice the diameter of an equal HP New Holland. Pound for pound, it will work circles around a 30ish HP Deere or NH; particularly loader work.

Other Korean brands have massive cast iron castings, too and are much heavier than Deer, NH, etc. The TYM tips the scale at 1000 lbs more than a NH TC30.

Weight equals traction and stability. Traction equals easy loader work.
Every tractor has enough horsepower to spin the tires. After that what's the point? You pay WAY extra for green and blue paint and the rumor of 50+ year parts availability. The reality is that so-called American tractors are sourced form a hodge-podge of Asian suppliers just like Korean tractors. Long term parts availibility for the new generation of NH and Deere tractors won't be any better or worse than Korean tractors.

(hint: Parts won't be availible 50+ years from now like the vintage American Tractors produced in the USA.)

Bates, you have hit the nail on the head. Comparisons of tractors should
be based on weight and features, not hp. Tractors are about pulling
and pushing and lifting. More hp is for doing it faster. Most will always
be limited by traction.

Note that many tractors of the same configuration and displacement are
rated with significantly different gross power outputs. i.e. there are
3-cyl 1.5-liter Diesels that range from 25-35 hp. I know of one Mahindra
1.5-liter that is turbocharged and is rated only 30. You gotta wonder about
how accurate these specs are......

I've noticed looking at some Mahindra literature that their 10 series is what they call a HD tractor and their 15 series is rated light to medium duty. Isn't the 10 series Korean and the 15 of Japanese descent?

I've noticed that as well. I don't know what to make of it but, I've got a 10 series! :D

Interesting, the TC31 seems to be similar to your TYM T330, the TC31 does weigh about 500# less, but the 3pt lift capacity of the TYM is 1199# while the TC31 has 1635# capacity or roughly 400# more than your TYM. The TC31 is wider which yields stability. The NH has higher hydraulic capacities in all 3 ways to measure it. I could not find loader specs for the TYM, but if they are anything like the 3pt spec comparision, then the TYM seems to be lacking? And the curved loader arms on the TC31 make for quicker loader work than the traditional dog-leg arms that are found on the TYM so even if the TYM does have greater specs, I'd be willing to bet it is still slower due to lower visibility.

I'm not trying to cause trouble, just trying to point out that you made some pretty strong statements that don't seem to stand up very well when compared to a similar tractor. I will grant you that a TC30 is a pretty crappy tractor, but I can't understand why a full featured tractor would be compared to an aging economy tractor.

Everyone has opinions, but some facts do stand up.

Maka, for what it is worth, I would never buy from a dealer that knocked other brands. I think you are doing the right thing by taking the "high road" and simply selling your tractors and allowing them to stand on their own. If other dealers can't figure out how to do the right thing then they deserve to go out of business.

10 series=TYM

15 series = Japaneese (Iseki I believe).

I disagree with this statement... I had a 4110 Mahindra with Bradco 11 ft hoe. Once the PTO pump was installed, the tractor could do what I wanted, but slowly. Weight in some people's applications is a moot point. Not every one needs weight for their particular application. Secondly, talking about features,, I switched from the Mahindra 4110 to a Kubota L 48 TLB. Reasons?, two main reason are, the Mahindra had 7 gpm main pump. I understand that the new ones may have 8. Still negligable for serious hoe/laoder work,, The L 48 has three pumps totalling 26 GPM.,. Big difference... The other, and just as important,, was the turn around seat, Sit down, spin around, and operate the hoe... On the Mahindra, it is climb off, climb hoe, climb off, move tractor, climb back on hoe.. Lots and lot's of wasted time. and if with a serious physical disabilty, the climbing on and off, wears one out in a hurry...

"I would like to hear from owners of Korean tractors with how many years, hours, uses and satisfaction."

My Kioti just rolled over 300 hours this weekend in less than one year. I am clearing land with it. Mowing to maintain and clear light stuff, loader work to collect and pile the big stuff, and boxblade to grade the ground smooth. I know the thing will start and work its butt off every time I use it. I would have bought the GL3130 but the savings was 4000$ at the time.
