Another proud owner of a 2004 TZ24DA with FEL. It's been an amazing little tractor for me. Hours are a little high (1235), but it was mostly from pulling berries around a blueberry farm. The PTO was almost never used, as well as the FEL. No cracks in the frame, but the fenders are cracked under the seat. Not a big deal for me though. I'm going to weld on some 1/4" plate for added support on the frame.

So far I've put 5hrs on it, of pure abuse. It's completely changed my three acres. Very pleased with it's performance. I'm building a counterweight right now for it. Soon to get a brush hogg, and box blade.

1235 hours is far from high hours.

Yeah, it's not too high for being on a farm. 112 hours a year. Just compared to other posts I've been reading, it's high.

Hi All -

You can add me to the list of TZ24DA owners. I'm the second owner for mine - 610hrs. No FEL, but the 60" deck really helps me work through my 2.5 acres. I'm completely new to tractors so figuring out the critical maintenance will be an important next step.

Any key points of experience that I have to watch out for?

Thanks!

My biggest issue with mine was the hydrostat fan underneath not having a guard. I you don't have one, and you go in any brush, the fan will basically start falling apart. Otherwise, it was a great little tractor.

Need some help with my TZ24DA. Just recently, when mowing the yard after about 15-20 minutes the engine starts to bog down especially when starting uphill. Acts like it is starving for fuel. I replaced both fuel filters and used compressor to blow out fuel line and return line. Cleaned air filter as well. Drained fuel tank and didn't see any obstructions in bottom of tank. Replaced diesel with fresh diesel. Still doing it but only after running for a little while. Ran through some more tests today to no avail. When it started doing it today, I loosened the fuel cap to check the vent and ensure no vacuum being drawn on the tank. No effect. Removed the mower deck and connected the bucket. Checked mower deck, moves freely. When driving and moving bucket, starts doing it again. Doesn't die but rpm's drop to 1800-2200 but come right back after stop moving or stop moving implements. Could it be a clogged hydraulic filter? Only 460 hours on engine and about 150 on current hydraulic fluid and filters. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Does anybody have a spec. sheet for a TZ24DA? I bought one the other day and I need some dimensions before I go pick it up. For some reason Tractordata.com does not have the dimensions. Thanks

NH compact owner, I am having a similar issue with my CaseIH DX18e and wonder if you found a solution.

I bought my machine in May 2017, with 209 hours and it now has 239 hours. I don't encounter this power loss issue all the time. I at first thought it was because I was getting low on fuel (3/8). I have steep hills and wondered if I was just tilted enough and the fuel was diverted from the pickup. I fueled it and encounter the same problem the next time I used it. It doesn't happen right away, it is after I have used it mowing non stop for 1 to 1.5 hours. I am not sure if there is a difference in 2wd or fwd. I always use the unit in fwd because of the hills.

Your symptoms sound like restricted fuel delivery.2wd or 4wd isn't the issue and I doubt it's the hydraulic filter unless the hydraulics are moving slower than normal. But if the engine looses power going up hill without using the hydraulic, hydraulics aren't the issue.s. The reason the engine speeds it come back up is when you stop because you have reduced the load on the engine and fuel flow at that point is sufficient for that load.

Does it have a lift pump downstream of the tank? If it does, some of these have a screen in them that can clog or the pump itself might have failed. Also look for a pinched or kinked fuel line. Remove the line to the fuel filter and open the tank valve fully holding a suitable container under the line to catch the fuel. The fuel should exit the tank like a cow peein' on a flat rock. If it doesn't than the strainer at the tank exit may be clogged. You may have some floaters in the tank and that's may be the cause of the intermittency. Look in your owners manual or look up the parts manual on the NH website and see if there is a filter or screen at the inlet to the injector pump. make sure all the fuel fittings are tight to preclude sucking air.

I purchased my TZ18DA demo in Aug 2004. I have a 10LA loader and CM 54 mower, 4' rotor tiller, 5' back blade and a Meteor 3 point snow blower. I have about 500 hours on it without any frame or body panel cracks. Sound like I might be one of the lucky ones. Until recently, other than regular maintenance, my tractor has been bullet proof. Last week I was moving snow when everything went dead. The 25 amp fuse that protects the fuel pump, warning lights and safety start system was blown. I've been checking things out for a few days now and can't determine what is causing the problem. If I replace the fuse and try to start it, I will get two different results. The fuse will blow immediately when I turn the key, or it will let me turn the key to activate the starter a second or two and then blow. On one occasion, after removing body parts and checking wiring, connecting plugs and switches; I was able to start it 4 times in a row and I ran it for about 10 minutes. I assumed, LOL, that maybe I cured my problem by fiddling with wire cables, relays, switches, etc. Heck, maybe I had a magic touch. I put everything back together and I was able to start and run it for about 5 seconds before the fuse blew! I now need to pull the steering wheel so I can remove, or at least pull out. the cowling so I can check the fuel pump and a safety controller behind it. We TZ owners don't have a split cowling like the newer Boomer owners. Has anyone pulled their steering wheel? If anyone has any suggestions, I'm all ears.
