I'm a proud owner of a TZ25DA. Have had it 5 years and for a homeowner, it is a great machine. I regularly use it with the 54" belly mower, but also have the front loader (DA10)
and the rough-cut mower. In the Fall, I use it for leaf pickup. In the Winter, it handles snow, and in the Spring and Summer, its fertilizer, mulch, moving other equipment (a wood chipper). This Summer. I excevated a new 120 foot flower bed for my wife, using the front loader to first dig the bed, and then fill it with my own compost and mulch. With 5 acres to care for it is the perfect size. So far, no major repairs and total reliability! Could not be happier. Don't know how I lived with a "garden tractor" for so many years.

I've already saved twice the cost of this equipment, and have enjoyed the work.

Try leaving the fuel cap loose. It could be building up a vacuum and causing the engine to starve for fuel.

I posted a question a little ways back about my DX24E bogging down when used heavily and finally had the time to thourghly check it out today. Well I found out what was wrong, in case anyone has ever asked the question there are 2 fuel filters on that little tractor.

One is up in the engine compartment and I had changed that one a couple of times and it never seemed to help. The other filter is mounted on the frame behind the left rear wheel. It is what I would consider an automotive type (nipple on each end) and it was full of water and other assorted junk.

I changed it and used a generic one from Advance Auto Parts and everything is great now.

Never would I have thought there are two on that small tractor.

Just brought home a DX18E...from what I understand, the same tractor as the TZ18DA.

A few questions:
When mowing the yard, when you hit any bump, the pto handle jumps out of the notch, and disengages the PTO...anyone have this issue before, and is there an adjustment to correct this?

Since I have the red tractor...the manual calls for running CIH Hy-Trans oil. I also have a couple of older Ford's that run the New Holland 134 oil for the hydrostat/hydraulics. What oil does the TZ tractor call for? I figure if they're the same tractor, and the blue one calls for NH oil, could run what I keep on the place already.

How about mower blades? The 60" deck on it is ready for new blades...anyone have a good source for blades for these? How about something like the gator blades for these?

I have the TZ22 and the PTO handle will work it's way out and pop to the OFF position. When the plastic wore off the handle shaft it seemed to cure most of the ills. However, on rough terrain it still will occasionally pop out.

I also have the cracking seat mount issue. I have been wondering if the new seat reinforcements for the NH 1000 series will fit the TZ series. They can be ordered via a parts list for the new series. (1030)

Update:

I ordered the kit to reinforce the fender/seat pan. It consists of a flat panel and a front & back reinforcement bars. When I installed it I also epoxied it to the fender/seat pan. It is real strong now.

I am the second owner. Bought it with 140 hrs (approx) and now have almost 500. I really like this tractor. I have a woods FEL, NH 60MMM & tiller and Meteor 3 pt snow blower. Have entertained the thought of picking up another one just because I like it that much!

nwbearcat. There shoudl be an adjustment under the fender in the linkage. I had a similar problem with my DX33. Turns out, the lever would hit the plastic and not go back far enough to let it fully engage. Few turns of a turnbuckle and I was all set.

On the oil, I know of guys that run HyTran in all sorts of stuff. Supposedly the best out there. But, if you ask 10 people about oil, you'll get 12 different opinions.

Great machine, i have had mine for 6yrs now, bought it with 109hrs, now has 415hrs. I have literally abused this little tractor from pushing snow, moving 10 tri-axles of stone, digging out a hillside that would fill 3 tri-axle trucks and recently cleared the equivalent of 3acres of fence rows (bush-hogging 3" trees to digging out trees. Unbelievably, my seat mount has not cracked.
I have one question though, the ground speed for mine seems to have slowed recently. I don't think it is from use, it happend suddenly. Anyone experience this problem? High speed seems slower and seems to have less power. I have maintained the hydraulic fluid every 100hrs, but did notice the filter is dented up pretty good from clearing the fence row recently. could that be the issue?

Less power? May want to check your fuel filters. I just bought a TZ25 with 450 hours a month ago and the power was lacking. Changed the fuel filter and it has the power I thought it should have.

Thanks, I will do that. The filter only has about 100hrs on it. But i always keep a spare in the garage so I have them when need it. I will let you know if it fixes the issue. I also went and picked up complete new filter replacements for the hydraulics today as it always seems no one carries the Wix filters for the unit. Napa is MUCHHHH cheaper than New Holland prices (sorry New Holland)...
