Yes Fabriform looks to be a similar product.

Arly you could just put a culvert to act as an overflow. The only reason I say leave it as is because it seems to be working but I suppose it could was out also.
It will look like this.

This is basically what I did on mine. It works well and you can add risers to adjust water level.

I have 2, the first one draws from deep. I have it set to be the first to draw and set the water level. The 2nd one is about 2" higher and draws from top water. In a heavy rain it just helps with volume if the lower one can't keep up. I had them reversed where the one on the top of the water was primary, but it would get clogged. Since I switched them my water seems to be much clearer, and I don't have any more problems with clogs.

If you can avoid having a pipe through a dam, that would be better. Eventually the pipe will leak. A spillway off to the side of the dam is the only way to avoid future leaks in the dam.

If it was me, I would put off doing anything to the dam until everything else is done. It would be at the very bottom of my to do list. Let the beavers do their thing and see how it handles runoff for a couple of years.

Beavers are long gone but there dam remains. Beaver's come and go with there food supply. The water level needs to be reduced since it's now higher than the original dam and its already got materials washed out of it. This would be a fall project when water levels are at there lowest. I could use some Sodium Bentonite to seal the culvert better. Right now the dam leaks, so whatever I do must better! The road is located just 300ft downstream.

Sodium Bentonite has to be mixed in with the soil to do anything, and it’s still not guaranteed to work.

It will be interesting following what you do to fix the dam. I would wait, but we all have different priorities.

Well, first he has to buy the property. I agree, first take a little time to take stock of the land, the cabin, the creek, the pond, the trails .....

It would be at the bottom of my priority list too...

If it's not broken, don't fix it. That place needs more attention at other places.

Planning to buy both a project and a tractor with a backhoe? So easy to underestimate time and labor…
