You didn't read the link? That is just another broadleaf herbicide, it will have no affect on fescue.

Edit: sorry, didn't realize this thread was that old.

The big thing is it takes out the nutsedge that is destructive to many lawns here. Plus it takes out wider bladed grasses that 5,4 D won't.

**Update on this from the OP. From the comments and suggestions made, I did my homework and used a new herbicide that appears to work on many annoying grassy weeds. It's called "Turf Herbicide" (credit to xring100) and is for grassy and broadleaf weeds. It worked for me but I've only used it for a month.

It has 2,4-D and Dicamba as well as Quinclorac and I little bit of Sulfentrazone. I know 2,4-D but no idea on the others. It kills nutsedge real well. That''s the spikey yellowish grassy weed that spreads underground and is very troublesome in lawns. It also killed some odd and wider bladed grassy stuff and KO'd quackgrass quickly. Some pictures are below. See how the weed died and the surrounding grass lived? That's what I was looking for.

Sixdogs, glad you found something that worked for you. I don't know anything about the stuff you found

Yes actually I did research this product I believe you missed the link titled "Certainty for Warm Season Tall Fescue"
I don't want any one to be misled by your post stating that it does not work on fescue.

We're all on the same page. The stuff you suggested is what I ultimately wound up getting. It has different names from the same company for the same product. Beats me but it kills that nasty grassy nutsedge that was driving me nuts. It also kills crabgrass within a lawn and I don't understand how that's possible so I just use it. Thanks.

What rate did you apply it? Did you use something like a 1 gallon weed sprayer?

Yes, I used a one gallon sprayer and I just hit the nutsedge, some fine odd grasses and some crabgrass. It did a great job. The wider grasses might need two applications since those grasses yellowed but still look somewhat alive. the other stuff is dead as a doornail.

This is what I used.

Guess I misspoke. It will kill fescue, along with many other grasses. It will not SELECTIVELY kill fescue.
