Can my tractor handle this snow blower (with extension wings)?

Yah, I guess there is science involved but I didn't know how to express it or calculate it.
You're right, it is more of an art than a science as there's so many more variables than just saying x horsepower equals y feet of width for a snowblower or a mower, etc...
Sure there's rules of thumb , but.....

Thanks for the feedback. I'll leave the wings in for now. I have a 6 ft plow that mounts on loader I had built I'll use as well. Figure the plow for light accumulations and blower for heavier snow/cleanup.

You can always plow the snow then come along later and plow the piled snow further back at your convenience. This will make more room to plow and do it faster.

mbkubota,

How did your tractor work with the wings? I ask because you have the exact tractor and blower that I have. I am considering making some wings for mine as I need a little extra width due to the spacers I installed last year. The edges of my driveway are building up this year. I cannot overrun the edges because I have rubble stone on the edges for erosion control. Pictures?

Hi,

I just picked up a Meteor SB51 rear blower for my Kubota B2320. The previous owner had fabricated bolt on extension wings to widen the cut to 63 inches. I know the tractor can handle the blower without the wings, but what about with the wings? What's your vote, leave the wings on or take them off? Would appreciate any feedback!

I have a 66" farm king blower on the front of the same tractor and it works great, the deeper the snow the slower you have to go. That's all there is to it

Purchase several cans of fluid film spray from NAPA or the inexpensive large spray cans of cooking spray at The Samurai Club and use them to help the snow caster prevent clogs by spraying the chute, spout impeller and impeller housing. it makes world of difference in reducing friction and increasing the impeller and cross augers to slip and cast the snow aside with little lugging if any.
