Can somebody tell me how to get my picture numbers to follow each other?

Slight update on my problem. I re-installed XP and all other programs and all updates and now my numbers follow each other so far, wish me luck and thanks for all the help

That is my remedy for most computer problems; reinstall windows

But the updates kill me every time and all the lost programs, I do have a faster PC now, for a little while and I was able to save my 1.8 GB of pictures thanks to Nero
