No, not at all.

It is a completely free program created by Google that indexes and sorts all your photos.

There are other programs availibly like it but I think it is the best :)

I have had that problem before, it is probably because you have multiple instances of the same pictures on your computer.

The best way around it is to go to Tools and then Folder Manager.

You can then select where you want Picasa to look for your photos. If you normally jsut store them in your My Pictures, you can set it to just look there for them.

If you do not want both instances on Picasa, you can delete them either from just Picasa or from your Computer by right clicking on any photo.

I too like Google Earth :D

I'm from the South West of the Uk but have an uncle who lives in Chicago :)

I find Picasa the only way to manage all of our photos, I think we have close to 6,000

Have you sorted out the multiple instances of photos now?

I find the editing tools that comes with the program really useful aswell.

I expect that you have multiples in your PC but I am not sure. If you click on a photo and press Ctrl + Enter you get to the folder where Picasa found the picture. If you do this for the three copies of the pictures you should be able to work things out.

I can't tell you how to get your phone to keep numbering them but I can give you a really easy way to get the computer to sort them out for you.

I started to write my own tutorial and then found this one :-
Rename a batch of photos all at once

If you put all our pictures in the same folder after you downloaded them, by starting the numbering each time with different names, then did this, you can have one continuous numbering system, for very little effort.

The thing I don't like about the program you site is that it renames the photographs and adds a (1), (2), etc. at the end. Why can't they do it without the () having to be there? I know this is a nit, but if you are into generating web pages, having the () in every file name is a pia.
