Canned Gasoline?

I used a can of Motomix in that 1980's brush cutter and it ran perfect... starting perfect, idle perfect and revving without stumbling... we can't buy ethanol free pump gas here and they want to go to E15 soon!
Now thinking out loud the old mix of 32 to 1 with the Echo oil must be good stuff because there had been zero carb or piston issues in 35+ years...
I have used the 20 to 1 mix a few times at the cabin... ran, but not well.
My next project will be to fabricate or adapt a new fuel tank... my patch only lasted a season and half ;-(

As early as the 60s, Stihl, Husky, and McCulloch all offered their own pre-mix oils for 40:1 fuel. Others
probably did, too. 16:1 and 20:1 were the ratios recommended if all you could find was motor oil.
My first decent chainsaw was an early 70s Kioritz-Echo 451VL, made in Japan.

I've been running the Echo SRM 300e with Stihl synthetic at 50:1 ratio and it has never run this good... as in super easy to start... these older models don't have a primer.
The consensus has been to junk it since the gas tank is no longer available... the epoxy patch lasted for two seasons and about 50 tanks...
I just did an in-field repair with butyl foil back mastic tape... not a drop leaked... don't know how long it will last but I am half way through this year's brush cleanup.
The old Echo is fitted with a Tanka Brain Auto Feed .095 line trimmer that works superb... unfortunately it can't be used on the my brother's Stihl FS240 which has lots of power.
Going to call Tanaka to see if there newer version the Brain 2000 will fit on a Stihl.
