Can't get heat !

Can anyone help with an easier process to get my antifreeze to circulate. (I believe my heater was tampered with to give me this problem. They just pulled the hoses off from the heater enough to allow an air gap) I have a cab heater in a Kioti Ck25 and it was a bugger to get heat to it when I installed it. It is a 3 cylinder Diesal, Got the kit when I got my Sims Cab. Any suggestions would be appreciated . Thanks

You probably have an air bubble trapped in your heater core. Maybe hook some sort of pump up to the coolant lines going in and flush the air out of the core.

We have the same problem with heaters on boats. Remove the outlet hose with the engine running and allow it to burp the air then shove the hose on quickly and top off the radiator all without shutting the thing down. I have went as far as to install a valve up high in the system to burp things because in a boat every time you shut down the motor it drains since there is now radiator to create a loop, they use lake water 90% of the time for engine cooling and cockpit heat.

I use an in-line electric fuel pump to circulate the coolant through my heater core, which is at the top of my cab.

hwp is the fuel pump set up to be happy with water and to be that hot? If it has been running a long time that way I guess it's ok. As far as the original poster if you install one of those antifreeze flush kits from the auto store and use a bit of hose pressure to force the air out of the system would that work? As long as you left enough antifreeze to cover the temp extremes for winter and summer.

I've been using the electric fuel pump system in the heater circuit for at least 10 years without any problems so I guess the temperature is not a problem and there is probably enough lubricant, etc. in the antifreeze to prevent any corrosion. I take my cab off for the summer so the pump sits dry for several months but that doesn't seem to hurt it. Electric fuel pumps are quite inexpensive so it doesn't really matter if they only last a few years.

You do have fluid in the system? The hose didn't get pinched when the cab was installed causing the fluid to drain.

Nope. Not pinched. Lots of fluid. Blew the heater out with air - lots of circulation there. Just trying to get it to circulate. I am sure there is air trapped somewhere. Looking for the best way to bleed it. Thanks

On my IH1066 there are shut off valves on the intake line and the outgoing line at the block, could someone have just
shut one of the valves.

Hey Thumper, sorry it took so long to respond. I just have one shut off at the thermostat and it is wide open. Blew the air through and lots of circulation. I think I need a bleeder. any ideas how I would put one in and were ? Thanks

How old is the Koti, do you have a good radiator cap, if you don't have the pressure it's going to fight you. On my 1066 the heater core is on top of the cab, when we change the fluid we just refill and start her up with the heat on high for about 20 min. I then let her cool off and top her off. I've never had to bleed a hose up on the cab. I like the idea of the fuel pump the guys gave you. I've got two shut off valves and I close them in the spring to help with the AC working. Hope this helps.

Any chance you can unbolt the heater and set it on the floor of the cab so the heater and lines are lower than the radiator? This will let the air migrate back to the highest point, The radiator.

Thanks Guys. My Kioti is only 4 years old. Radiator cap seems fine but you never know. A buddy of mine mentioned dropping the heater below the the motor. I'll check both issues out. Thanks again for the help.
