The Captain D's in my town closed a few month back, not sure why. They seemed to have a decent business. We still have a Long John Silvers.

We had one Captain D's that I can remember. I think it's been gone for 15 years. We go to Long John Silvers maybe a couple times a year at most. We used to call them Long Thin Slivers when they gave less generous portions.

there are much better places to eat fish than Captian D's.
There are still several of their stores in my area.

Those stores have been here since the late 70's early 80's
I haven't eaten at one in many yrs. I pass by them to buy much better food

We had a much more sophomoric name for Captain D's....
We just figured that's what you got from eating there.

Especially after my buddy spent the 2nd half of 2nd shift in the locker room after eating crab from there.

At my next job, where we had to (among ten million other things) change settings on microprocessor devices in the field using a laptop and assorted cables and adaptors, I learned a new term for what captain d caused- high speed download.

I壇 never even heard of Captain D痴 before. Are they just in Eastern states?

I'm in an eastern state and I've never heard of them.

What I miss are the "fish and chips" places like Churches and Arthur Treacher's...

Treachers, ugh. Went to one once. Once was enough. :yuck: Never heard of Churches.

Not a big one for seafood anyway, but if I'm in the mood there are plenty of clam shacks along the coast in Maine or N.H

"here in CA, most folks find it hard to eat slippery sea food while they are hugging a tree". I shan't soon forget that one............

I was following a pickup truck on Hwy 49 in Jackson, CA a few days ago. It had two very large chain saws in the bed, fitted into a custom made rack. Obviously a logger.

On the back of the truck was a large sticker-- probably 16" x 16" with a picture of a stump. The caption below read: "Yes, I hugged it first." :D
