Eddie, glad you had a great time. Cruising is not for everyone. You either like it or you don't. We cruised the same route the week before you sailing out of Galveston.

As far as prices they vary quite a bit between dates and ports. The best thing is to just check on the dates you want and wait for the right price. We have gotten some great deals that way.

PS, the great beach in Saint Thomas in Megans Bay, we did the eastern Carib several years ago. If you thought Grand Cayman was nice wait until you see the Virgin Islands

Eddie - let me add something to clarify... The $100 prepayment can be used with any method of booking the cruise (directly or third party).. Once you book the cruise you just send your voucher to Carnival and they will deduct the $100 off your next payment.

You should consider the Alaskan Inside Passage cruise. I've done the carribean, the Mississippi River cruise, and the Inside Passage. They are all nice and offer something different on each one. My favorite though is the inside passage.

The Alaskan cruises are great, particularly in early summer. My sister and brother-in-law (Mahindra owners) have taken five Canadian cruises and love those. As for prices, the Internet is great. I shop http://www.vacationstogo.com" and other discount sites, check out Cruise Reviews, Cruise Deals and Cruises - Cruise Critic, and get the best prices quoted. Then I go to the AAA Travel service and ask them to beat it. They usually do, and throw in some upgrades and other perks as well.

The European canal cruises are supoosed to be quite mellow and relaxing. Of course they're a whole different animal to what you guys are talking about.
