Thanks to all that responded. Since no one was able to talk me out of it, I will be on my way to pick up the unit. I will be leaving my house at 3:00 AM to pick it up at the Petersburg, VA location. They have my TM1900B and the shift kit there for me. It looks to be at least a 7 hour drive one way.

I hope your TM1900 works out for you as well as mine has done. I love it and have "mowed" everything from grass to small trees, sheet metal, angle iron and old tires without a problem.

Three cautions:
1: be sure to lift the mower off the ground before shifting the mower otherwise the plate that the cylinder pushes against will bend. Someone else was using my tractor and got confused as to which valve lever did what and that was the start of a problem with the plate bending.

2: be careful when raising the mower for transport. It is possible to cramp the PTO shaft against the outside spreader tube on the carriage. If you have a hydraulic top link, suck it in before lifting.

3. lubrication of the tubes the carriage rides on is important. With my sandy dusty mowing conditions I have cleaned the grease off and using a spray on silicone that dries. Just started to use this, will report later.

Otherwise it is a great mower.

Yeah, that is what happens when you start reclaiming a farm that has been abandoned for the past twenty five years or so. Discovering little pieces of "history" is part of the fun. I managed not to hit it but it was quite a surprise to find an entire gas station pump in the middle of one field. What were they farming?

Abandoned for 25 years?...Sounds like everyone else found a place to deposit unwanted stuff...:(

Well on the bright side...It definitely justifies your Grapple....:D

Hi guys, check out another Itailian fail mower "Muratori".
I got one of these with the hydraulic shifter and love it. It looks just like the Caroni is the same orange color. The blades however, look different.

cheers,
