First car in High School was a 68 Firebird. Spent summers working to get it muscle car'd out, tires, rims, suspension, paint. Than went to college and had to sell it because I couldn't afford the gas. Traded it for a Corolla...talk about an 18 year old crying like a girl.
Next big purchase out of college was a 75 911s. Air box would blow up because of a backfire on start up about once a year. But when it was not in the shop, was way dangerous. Than got smart and bought a new 85 Toyota PU (pre tacoma's) and that thing took me hunting to every back ridge of Colorado elk and muley hunting you could find. Mud, sleet, snow....and did it for 17 years. I think I changed the starter and fuel pump once in those 17 years. Gave it to my niece and bought a new Tundra in 2002. Still driving that. If I could find the time and the money, I'd seek out a car I have wanted most of my life, and that is a 61-62 Corvette. Love the body shape, dual headlights, interior....just a sweet design.
