Case 580 super?

Hi, i am in the market for a new to me backhoe. I have some land clearing, foundation, and landscaping to do as well as 100's of other things i'm sure i will come up with. So, i seem to be draw to case 580's, i can afford in the $25,000 range. i was looking at the 580L's, and my questions are, What are the differences between series 1 and 2, and L and super L. Is there a year that was better than others. Thanks

I can't rememer the differences between the 1 and 2 series, only because it didn't interest me due to the minor differences. The super L has more power and a few other minor differences. I quite honestly don't think there is a huge difference when looking at the 1 and 2 series, 2 and 3 series etc. But that's just me. If I am going to get picky about the machine, i look at the different models altogether, like L versus M, or the C's versus the D's.

I'll tell you now though, if you do get a Case, you will be VERY happy. They are great machines and run forever!

Thanks for the reply, i wasn't sure if there was a difference in the lift capacity or digging forces. I'll have to research alittle more.

If there is I'm not sure it's a huge difference. I've never noticed that on spec sheets to be honest.
