CASE 580B TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS?

I have an old case 580b ck. When I need to use her I have to let her warm up for a long time. Especially in cold weather. I get the tires up off the ground and run them in 3rd gear for about 30 minutes or until the start turning fast. lately ive been having problems getting her to move...especially uphill or in dirt thats somewhat soft. yesterday she kinda ran ok...even took a giant oak stump that must have weighed a few thousand pounds up a pretty good incline way to the back of the property about 1000 feet away...but that was after hours of running...today i started her up let her warm up for over 30 minutes with the tires up, and she didnt want to go anywhere... after moving around a bit i was able to get her out to pavement where she ran fine all the way down to the house...can anyone give me some ideas as to what this issue could be.

G'day you should have a plate/sump on the bottom of the reverser unit there should be a filter under there drain the oil and clean the filter and fill with fresh oil and see if that helps

One of the issues with these is debris building up on the intake pipe for the shuttle. This isn't directly accessible but can have a plug drilled to clean it. Your other choice is to open the top covers and do a thorough cleanout. There has been much posted about this issue with 580CK and 580B CKs on the Heavy Equipment Forum. A quick search there will give you more info. These machines share the Rockford shuttle, different than later models.
