You can go from cat 1 impliments to cat 2 with bushings that they sell.
Cat 2 implement pins are too big for cat 1 arms but should be changeable.

I think it is the other way around. The Cat 2 implement has larger pins, both in diameter and length. Bushings are available to allow Cat 1 pins, of the correct length to attach a Cat 2 implement to a Cat 1 three point hitch.

With the proper bushings, Cat1 implements can be made compatible with Cat2 lifts. BUT. Cat1 implements are not designed to stand up to the power that can be delivered by Cat2 tractors.

If you've got old Cat1 implements and have recently upgraded to a Cat2 tractor, I strongly suggest you do the same with your old implements.

Either grade up your implements OR take it easy when using them and make sure that you have a welder (and a source of scrap) to use for quick repairs.
Its a choice, does your equipment work for you or do you work in order to buy shiney equipment....that only gets used now and then as you might need it. Can you justify the money to save the time?

Your mixed up this time. Cat 2 implement pins are too big to fit in a Cat 1 tractor unless you can swap the balls on the lift arms which generally is only easily done on Cat 2 tractors. Some implements have both Cat1 and Cat 2 attachments but generally if you want to use a Cat 1 implement on a Cat 2 tractor like the OP is asking you can put bushings on the lift arms and in the top link to shrink the holes down to the proper size of a Cat 1 implement.

With the 3 proper bushings long cat 1 pins will work very well on cat 2 arms. Example : today small sprayer for liquid fertlizer an 100HP tractor Cat 1 pins & bushings work great, change to 10 ft disc cat 2 pins was discing ,friend came by wanting roll of hay,hay spear cat1 & same 3 bushings used hay spear. The boss (wife) was using the small tractor. If you use cat 1 equipment behind a cat 2 tractor be very easy on it you will spend more time fixing than using. I have broken every piece of cat 1 equipment I have when it was used on the big tractor, got real good with a welder. Cat 2 pins will not fit the ball ends on cat 1 arms. Scrapironford

You can also buy Cat 1 and Cat 2 pins. Just use a wrench take off the one you don't want to use and put your new pins in the implement. I think they cost me about five or six bucks down at Agpro.

Most of the time ,not all ,this will not work. The distance between the flange on cat 1 is 27 in. on cat 2 it is 33 in., the distance between the center of the lower pins to the center of the top link pin is cat1 18in. cat 2 24in. The threaded shaft of cat lower pins is larger as is top link pin diameter. This is per ISO730/1 standards. Not all equipment follows standards ,I have some that dosent and it is almost new. Some if my cat 2 eguipment , I have modified to work on the cat 1 tractor, if the tractor will handle it. Scrapironford

Okay....you must be correct. I will make sure and tell myself the next time I hook up to my box blade, the next time I hook up to my two bottom rollover plow, and the next time I hook up to my cultivator, oh and the next time I hook up to my planter that changing from cat 1 pins to cat 2 pins and visa versa will not work.
