A dumb question, but how does one determine whether he has a Cat 1 hitch, or Cat 2? I have anewly acquired but not new (2006) JD 5203. tks
John Deere specs it as a Cat 2/1. http://www.deere.com/specsapp/Custo...03 Utility Tractor (56 hp)&tM=FR&pNbr=5203 LVA dumb question, but how does one determine whether he has a Cat 1 hitch, or Cat 2? I have anewly acquired but not new (2006) JD 5203. tks
John Deere specs it as a Cat 2/1. Product Specification for 5203 Utility Tractor (56 hp)
To me, that means Cat 2 lower lift arms, Cat 1 toplink. If in doubt:
Cat 1 lift arms accept 7/8" diameter lift pins
Cat 1 toplinks accept 3/4" diameter implement pins
Cat 2 lift arms accept 1-1/8" diameter lift pins
Cat 2 toplinks accept 1" diameter implement pins
Hopefully a 5203 owner will chime in here and confirm or deny my SWAG about that Cat 2/1 spec.
