cat declaw issues

Oh, I also have a deaf cat. Is your cat white with blue eyes? It is on the gene code. She was a stray and had kittens before she was fixed. Some of them were deaf also and I was thrilled to find them good indoor homes where they are safe. My deaf cat has little fear. She has run up to my car or truck as I've pulled in the driveway, and has nearly been trampled by horses on several occaisons. I can't bring her inside because she is not tame. She only barely tolerates me and won't let me touch her. Everyone else she runs from. It was quite an ordeal to take her to the vet and she is not fun to give shots to or deworm. I have to get her while she's sleeping and wrapped up in a blanket and I always get ripped to shreds. Her kittens were all tamed by me because I started handling them the day they were born, so they are all sweet, loving cats and are treasured by their owners (all of them are white and are deaf too).

We had a stray orange-colored tomcat that wanted to be an inside/outside cat (named Neon) . When my wife bought new furniture, she had him declawed. The cat walked with a "toe-in", but may have been that way before the declaw. I felt it might be wrong to declaw a cat and let him run loose outside, but it is also wrong to let the cat inside and destroy the house and new furniture. He made out pretty well though. I came home one day and there was orange fur all over the sidewalk and a pissed-off cat hiding in the bushes wanting inside. The next day there was a dead mocking bird on the doorstep and the cat had a better attitude. I've seen Neon whip the neighbor's Chow dog and found a 5" long furball that was a catfish in the aquarium he fished out with his declawed self. I don't guess I've helped you with my response, but it got me thinking about Neon. I guess I miss my old burnt-orange, bad attitude kitty. I hope all goes well with your little fellows. Good luck.

As it is now, the more muscular of the 2 brothers is less effected.. he gets arund pretty good. The other guy lounges around alot... thus he gets alot more attention, hugs and kisses from the wife and I...
