One could argue that the human species has really screwed up this world.
Hate is a bad word, but the irony is I could more easily put you down "hands on" easier than that cat in my original post.
PS never considered myself a snowflake. I get it, you don't care about cats.

I read that historically human success has often rested on the backs of cats, keeping rodent populations in check.
I have mixed feelings about that around here. I don't like to see things killed, not a chipmunk, nor stink bug! But my cats have pretty much layed waste to the rodent population a good distance from the homestead. And, it's a job they do with GREAT PRIDE!

Killing has nothing to do with pride, it's dirty, messy, can take longer than you think, and if you actually like your life, I've found you'll end up regretting your actions over time when you don't kill to only survive by nourishment.
My original post was about cats, show some cuth "Mr. Intelligent" man, and like Thumpers mom told Thumper, if you can't say something nice, don't say it at all. You don't have to be a rocket scientist to know you could be consdiered pretty much a prick for the comment you made when the subject thread is pertaining to cats relating to being great pets. Since I was the one started this thread, have no qualms with asking you leave.
As I've noted, I get it, you don't like cats.
Personally, I do. So, if you don't have anything nice to say about cats, get the heck out of this thread and don't come back.

Sorry for your loss. I've had cats since before I was born! :laughing: Seriously. When my mom was pregant with me, the cat would sit on her belly and purr. When I was born, they brought me home and the cat jumped into the crib with me and slept with me every night for 18 more years. She was 21 when she died. Cantankerous serial mouser that would chase her own tail like the cartoon Tasmanian Devil. 
I've had to put down close to a dozen cats in my life and three dogs. Never an easy thing.
Hardest was just a few months ago. Our 2.5 year old cat developed congestive heart failure and we had to put him down. He was an awesome cat! I taught him to sit, shake hands, high five, and sit-up. I was working on lay down and roll over when he passed.
I've got some videos of him that I'll try and post in this thread in the near future.
Just last week, we adopted two used cats from the shelter. They are 2 and 4 months old respectively. Little boy and bigger girl. Black and white cats. The girl is a sweetheart. The boy is typical psychotic kitten!!! All boy! :laughing: I'll get some pics of them, too.

An old boss gave me that book and sent me to employee assistance as condition of keeping my job. Employee assistance sent me to a psychiatrist. After two sessions, the psychiatrist gave me this book and his sympathies. It was autographed by the author and meant a lot to him, but he thought I needed it more! :laughing:

We had a cat that was about 10 that developed kidney failure. I ended up giving him subcutaneous injections of 100CCs of normasol twice a day for 18 months. That cat disliked me since he was a kitten, but when he got sick, I was quite surprised that he had no problems with me picking him up, setting him on a towel on the kitchen counter, hanging an IV bag, sticking him with a needle behind the scruff of his neck, and squeezing 100ccs of cold fluid out of that IV bad into him for a count of about 100 seconds twice a day. I'd say "Come on Tiger. Time for your juice." He'd walk up and let me pick him right up......
