I was no a cat lover until one special cow cat adopted me. I chased him off for months but always came back, looked out on freezing day and was on my porch shivering, so threw out an old blanket and he looked so happy. Then one day I gave him some food and he knew he had me hooked. Next day I opened the door in he ran he looked the house over jumped in my lap and purred until he fell asleep. He was mess covered in flees, ear mites, skinny but with most outrageous personality. He expected everybody to love him, I first named him drool because with ear mites problems when her purred he drool on you, took him to vets and he passed all the tests so we got rid of the fleas and went to work on his ears everyday a dose of ear optic. After the ears cleared his eyes stopped watering and he stopped drooling on me and I became so attached I changed his name to Jewel. I really fell in love, put in cat door because he would not use a litter box. He would come running whenever I whistled even if he was outside. About 16 months later I woke from bad dream about him and started whistling and calling no answer, outside at 5am looking and calling, spent days looking even watching for buzzards but no sign, I cried. So I went online to the shelters and found another cow kitty, he was 6 months old and had been returned twice, reason I imagine was he was aloof. He was born in the shelter neuter at 6 weeks and bounced around to various pet shops. He wouldn't look you in the eyes and didn't like being held. He never made a sound. I almost gave up on him too. Instead I just gave more attention, picked him and made him put up with me rubbing him and finally found something he would play with. I happen to shoot a large rubber ban over him across the room and he jumped up and snatched from the air. That broke the ice, one day he brought me the rubber ban and I knew we connected. Then we got talking now 8 years later we are best buddies and every evening he comes and sits next to me and wants me to talk with him. He is a inside only cat!
