Catalytic Convertor For Diesel Tractor?

Hello - Tapping into the wizards of knowledge here. I have a Yanmar/Cub Cadet 32hp diesel. It stinks and the wife hates the smell. Is there such thing as a bolt on catalytic converter for a diesel tractor. I am not certain any urea system would be cheap and simple enough for me to run. Perhaps grafting a cat from another make would work?

A DPF will reduce or eliminate the particulate matter (soot). That's one component of the stink but not the only one. It's also a carcinogen.

There is low temp continuous regen DPF technology that is made for retrofit on existing mechanical injection engines. Donalsdon makes some as do others. I dont' think it'll be cheap though, assuming that they'll even sell it to you at retail. There may be some other changes that you'd need to make like injection timing.

My Branson is equipped with this type of DPF from the factory. It stinks a lot less than the much smaller Kubota B7100 I used to have.

I don't think there is a "bolt-on performance" solution to your problem. There's a lot of engineering and controls technology involved in emission control systems.

There are actually exhaust scrubbers that are bolt on. They are used when diesel engines are run indoors. Would take some research to find one that's right for your tractor. we have put them on excavators that are run for interior demolition
