I am back...
I am blown away that a virtually painless fifteen minute procedure can create such an amazing life changing event. After yesterday’s procedure I now see colors and details I have not seen for the last five years including reading a tape measure and the printed page with out a magnifier. This morning I was fitted with new glasses and prescription sun glasses ground for distance clarity and a reassurance that the new lense was happy in it’s new home.

A huge shout out to Dr. Clint Simpson of Speciality Eye Institute of Lansing and Jackson, Michigan and the Genesis Surgical Center of Lansing, Michigan.
The procedure came off with out a glitch and at exactly the appointed time. Any Michigan (or beyond) TBN Members these guys know their trade and no, this is not a paid political advertisement.

I will join the congratulation chorus!

I had cataract surgery in November, 2019, on both eyes, one week apart. The doctor recommended fixed focus IOLs (different Rx in each eye) plus astigmatism correction instead of a multi-focal lens such as PanOptix or Symfony. I can read, use the computer and watch TV, all without needing glasses. I've needed glasses since I was 5 years old. My doctor does not put cataract patients under anesthesia, just 10 mg of Valium. My results were immediate and amazing.

Also, in case there's some confusion, some doctors use a laser to perform some steps in cataract surgery while others use a scalpel. Cataract surgery is not the same as Lasik, which I was not a candidate for (corneas too thin).

If anyone is interested in seeing what happens during cataract surgery, including the insertion of the IOL, Dr. Shannon Wong has some great videos on Youtube.

Isn't it beautiful. Amazing how one can become desensitized by things over time. The classic "you don't know what you are missing" comes to mind.

Good for you!

Glad to hear this worked so well for you Bunyip and the others.
I know quite a few people that have had this and they all say it's like the lights are back on!

I知 happy to know things went well Bunyip. I don稚 recall do you guys have national health insurance? I qualify for USA Medicare and carry a supplemental health insurance policy that fills in the gaps. It was estimated our out of pocket would net down to something less than $100 US dollars.
My health policy does not cover glasses so I知 on the hook for those and I must say, there has got to be a terrific Mark up in those things.
Day two post procedure and things are still looking great. I have to wait until next Wednesday to get clearance for running a chain saw and wood splitting but having great shop time organizing stuff and discovering new you tube channels on the internet.

It's been long enough that i'd forgotten about the color change from yellowish to vibrant.
