The subcompacts use a Cat 0 spacing with Cat 1 pins so it can be confusing. I've found that Cat 1 attachments will fit, provided the pins are turned inwards.

Thanks, that is what I was looking for. I did a search myself but found only sites that wants to charge me for the ISO standards.
ISO does list Cat 1 narrow as a category separate from Cat 0.

This did not work on a standard sized Cat 1 PH digger. The tips of the pins were exactly 24" apart on the inside, still too big.

Ok, we need pictures!
If the tractor is new, make sure the 3ph arms aren't on backwards, that can throw the geometry off. The in-law's tractor came with the arms installed backwards from the NH dealership, the tractor was a TC-30.
If you can't provide pictures, at least tell us what make and model of tractor you are working with.

Are there chains crossed between the two arms to prevent sway in the lift arms? Make sure these are adjusted to allow full spread. There should be a turnbuckle or some means of adjusting them to tighten/loosen.
