Lots of issues with Dogs in my city...
A couple of years back on a street I was very familiar with an incident resulted in 3 deaths plus the dog.
Animal Control was called out to investigate a complaint... control officer insisted on picking up the dog and the retired owner said is picking up my dog worth your life?
Dog Owner shot the animal control officer dead and one of the arriving police officers was shot dead as well as the owner and the dog...
Neighbors related that the owner said his dog was his only reason to go on living...
I've seen other dog incidents escalate... as a highly decorated Naval Fighter Pilot told police to get off his land as the officer was trespassing... officer said there was a call kids were chased by a dog and the retired vet said **** right and they were trespassing as you are and I won't tell you again...
I was 11 and never heard anyone speak that way to a policeman... I later asked about it and he told me in no uncertain terms that he didn't survive WWII shooting down Japanese planes to put up with this nonsense on his own property...
The person lived a few streets over on a trail to the creek.. I never had any problems but kids would go down to the creek to smoke and the threat of fire is very real here.
I guess it comes down to neither side willing to back down or take a step back...
Thankfully my parents taught me there is a time and a place and not to make a bad situation worse.
It is very different in the country...
I was visiting my Grandparents and the next farm shot and killed a dog in his chicken coup... the owner, also another farmer was sad but bared no animosity... asked how many chickens were killed and reached in his pocket and paid for them on the spot and took his dead dog home...
