Having found out I've acquired sting allergies, I love to take every chance I can to take them down/out.
About 1 1/2 years ago I got stung in the calf by a wasp. Simple paper wasp. I stomped on it (was in LATE October and wasp was very slow)
Long story short, ended up in emergency room for 2 1/2 hours while they pumped me full of about 6 or 7 syringes of stuff.
Today, I'm taking allergy shots. What I find interesting is, the allergy Doctor tells me of all the stings, bees/wasp/yellowjackets I'm only mildly reactive to bees, somewhat reactive to wasps (and one put me into the ER) and VERY reactive to yellowjackets & hornets.
Point being, I'm counting my blessings it was a wasp that did it. Bad enough to get me to emergency room and find out I have this new problem but not bad enough to have killed me like might have been possible with the nastier buggers.
had a bee stung me, I might not have figured it out at all since the reaction might have just been an annoyance.
counting my lucky stars and keeping my supply of Epi-Pens fresh and in sight.
