Yeah, actually, that's something along the lines of what I had in mind of doing until I saw you could get a connector for 5 bucks. I knew they were available, but just didn't know where. I still haven't done it so I'll think about it.

Tom, I wouldn't use the Vickers base since I might want the speed for other stuff up front, know what I mean? I'd put it on (in) the grapple only.

Five dollars? Heck, I built a trencher/stump grinder to save $40, so what is the problem? (Guess you have to have more time than money, lol)

Can you post a link where to get those orifices?
I just make em out of alien socket set screws - stainless steel cuz its easier to drill a hi aspect hole. Iv always been able to pick a size that will give a reasonable partial thread in a fitting near where restriction is needed. Sometimes dont even drill a hole in the SS - just let the oil run thru the helix. BTW, a restrictor on the rod side is faster than an equal restrictor on the piston side.

I seem to remember reading that you can buy restrictor plates that fit in the hydraulic fittings. Also there are adjustable flow control devices that allow you to dial in exactly the speed you want.
