CD/insufficient memory

Actually I have a cd for every weekday and 5 for the Saturdays in a month. I never had a problem until recently. 6 months ago or so. Now even my replacement cds are acting up /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif
It was making me wonder if my burner was going bad...
At least I have a workaround now. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I first used Roxio for my creating CD's, but I later discovered Nero. It came with a CD burner I bought. Roxio would hang my system at times. Nero has never done that, and it's faster at making copies ...at least for what I'm copying. They still offer a free download (trial offer) for the Nero software. I did a search in google for nero download and got lots of hits. Here is a link to the nero site. Nero Download

I also found Nero muuuuuch better than roxie/esaycdcreator.. etc.

many incompatibilities were starting to crop up with roxio.. etc.

I'm about due for a new pc, I'll keep that in mind about Nero.

I have Roxio's Easy Media Creator 7, and have not had any problems. I've heard other's raving about Nero, but have never tried it.

Re-Writables can give you fits. As posted here make sure you are erasing as you go. I always ZIP (compress) databases and then archive them. That way I can fit several by date on the destination drive. Depending on the zipped file size I often put a copy on CD, email myself a copy, and put one on a jump drive. I carry a secure jump drive with a gig of memory on my keychain. Zipping them with a password also allows you to keep copies on another machine in the office.
