Cell phone holders in Vehicles ??

Having followed several so=called "drivers" paying attention only to the phone on their ear you **** right I am. Stupidity runs rampant on our highways.

Odd, I've driven 49 of the 50 states over 65 years and never needed a gps...or a phone in the car although I do carry one for emergency use only (used it last summer to call in about the deer that just totalled the car)

Curious how you use the GPS function on your smart phone without driving at the same time?

Simple. They think they are "multi-tasking"...they aren't. While they are looking at the GPS nothing outside the car will register. If they tried taking a few of the many reaction timer tests they would realize how tunnel vision looking at an instrument is. I watched one clip of a guy who though he could text and drive at the same time. Test required him to read and respond to a text. Red light in front of him would light for him to touch the brake. He missed 5 in a row.

Since Oct. it's illegal to hold or use a phone in a moving vehicle (for the driver, of course)in Oregon, so some kind of jimmy-rigged 'mount' has to be used. It's quite likely that you could be ticketed for just having it in the seat or cupholder and not using it if you caught a peeler on a bad day.

It is becoming common on traffic accidents to ask the driver to hand over the phone. Doesn't take much on side of the road to tell what he was doing on it.

In most states you will find the law enforcement is exempted from the hand held device laws, as it was explained to me it was because they are such highly trained drivers they can do so safely while us peons can't walk and talk at the same time much less drive and that was said with a straight face.

Werong. It is because it is needed to conduct their job. Do they also use them for other things? Of course they do.

And thats when the public will ban the NTSB. We aint given them up. From my cold dead fingers.
