In central maine it depends on the provider. USCellular works for cell coverage at the house, but no other providers do, even sprint and verizon. In town 12 miles away they all do. The coverage maps are garbage in my experience, Call the company up gives you better answers - or talk to your neighbors on what they use.
We still keep our landline.
