That already know your name and address. They SEND you the packet, then you go online to fill out with a control number copied from the packet.

and then...there is the American Community Survey. This Survey is very intrusive and asks many personal and financial questions. I participated in 2010 and was hounded incessantly for the rest of the year with follow-up questions. I will refuse to participate this year and will pay a fine, if need be.

I was told to participate in the ACS in 2018...yeah, lots of personal questions. I only answered the simple census type questions and sent it back.

My BIL was required to complete a survey (long form, lots of personal data, including details about his farming).. he supplied the information he felt was appropriate and put NA on the rest. They hounded him for several months and finally got him on the phone. They said he is required to supply the complete information requested, it is part of farm program requirements. He said no problem, never participated in any farm program, they finally gave up when they realized he did not have to supply any more information. They can ask, but I will not be putting information in that is none of their business.. census is to have an accurate count of citizens and non citizens. Allow them to have the correct number of representatives and such. Non citizens for general purpose how many is there, etc.

I thought about the census job perhaps 10 minutes, then decided against it. I would not want to have to talk to someone like myself. of course I could have some fun with some opposing viewpoints.. and get paid to harass them.

This will be my 6th Census from the same physical address. They should know more about me than I can remember about myself.

Back on point, I haven't heard a word and this is supposed to be their peak hiring time. I'm not really even interested any more, even if they do call. I was told by others that they call, once. If you don't answer, they don't leave a message, don't call back and don't send an email.

They ask your age and your birth date. I will give them my age. Not so sure I will give them my full name either. To much info given to who knows. I feel that the Census is a "Count" of the people. They don't need such personal information.

That's like many stores that want all your info.
I give them my area code and that's it.

You don't have to let them in, that's for sure. I would worry if any of my female family members were Census Takers, they would go armed or not at all. There are just to many scumbags lurking around.

I believe that they have suspended doing the field work for a couple of weeks.
