Census Jobs?

Why not? I guess I don't understand why anyone would object to being counted. I don't really know what all the questions are this year, but I can't imagine any that I would object to answering. And of course, I'll be polite to any census taker because he/she is just doing the job they were hired for.

One problem is that you open the door and there is no clue that they are census takers until they explain it. Their cars should have a sign on them big enough to be seen from the front door/window.

I don't mind answering a few basic census questions but wait until you see the pages of questions the "American Community Survey" asks if you are picked to do so. Like if your house needs windows or roof replacement and when you leave for work.

I rarely give out personal information, or answer questions for the government. The less the government knows about me the better.

I doubt they'll be knocking on my door. I'm 350-400 feet off the road. entire property fenced and gated drive
Unless they are and fence climbers in their stable. I will never see one of these people

To many personal questions in my opinion. They want name, age, date of birth, sex, phone number, mortgage or not, Latino or not, Race, and name of second person in home and how related.

The Census is a "Head Count" conducted by who knows. I will tell them how many people live here, Period. I am willing to pay the $100 fine for not answering those invasive questions.

I agree.

Google, Facebook, Android, etc. all know more about us than any census taker.

The American Community Survey is very intrusive and goes on for a whole year. They pester the crap out of you. You can be fined $5K for refusing to do it. I did the one in 2010 and don't plan on doing it again.

I was asked to do one in 2018 and only answered the simple questions I thought were normal census questions. I wrote a note with my concerns about identity theft and was not going to answer questions like about my purchases or when I normally leave the house. I never heard back from them.
