Wayne County Hose said:I may be wrong, but I think there is only one 455. The TSC price ($513) is probably the m.s.r.p. or whatever TSC felt like putting on there so you felt like you got a good deal. My thoughts, even if you pay a little more, it's always better to buy from the local shop. If a saw bought at TSC breaks, what do you do? I bought a log splitter locally. Could have got it at TSC for about $150 or so less. The pump went after a year. I brought it back to the local shop. He offered me a replacement splitter until mine got fixed. I took it in on a Thursday, he repaired it and called me Saturday morning. I couldn't ask for any better service.
I would like a more aggressive chain for my saw. Guy at TSC: Uhhhhh, I don't know man..... not my department and I go on lunch in 2 minutes dude...... uh-hut-hut-hut.
I understand your concern on service, makes sense. That said, there is a great engine shop right up the street that is also the Kioti dealer I use. I will have to use them for any unfortunate issues. My biggest concern is that the 455 has at least the a decent rep regardless of personal favorites or prefernces . . . or I'll just take it back.
As far as price, I would also agree that 513.00 is MSRP. But that said I have yet to here of anyone else getting that model for under 400.00. So I assumed that is a good price ...especially considering the other models fell in the 340.00 area.
Again I don't need the most professional model but something better than a Sears special is what I was after. I always thought Husky was just that.
