I may be wrong, but I think there is only one 455. The TSC price ($513) is probably the m.s.r.p. or whatever TSC felt like putting on there so you felt like you got a good deal. My thoughts, even if you pay a little more, it's always better to buy from the local shop. If a saw bought at TSC breaks, what do you do? I bought a log splitter locally. Could have got it at TSC for about $150 or so less. The pump went after a year. I brought it back to the local shop. He offered me a replacement splitter until mine got fixed. I took it in on a Thursday, he repaired it and called me Saturday morning. I couldn't ask for any better service.

I would like a more aggressive chain for my saw. Guy at TSC: Uhhhhh, I don't know man..... not my department and I go on lunch in 2 minutes dude...... uh-hut-hut-hut.

I understand your concern on service, makes sense. That said, there is a great engine shop right up the street that is also the Kioti dealer I use. I will have to use them for any unfortunate issues. My biggest concern is that the 455 has at least the a decent rep regardless of personal favorites or prefernces . . . or I'll just take it back.

As far as price, I would also agree that 513.00 is MSRP. But that said I have yet to here of anyone else getting that model for under 400.00. So I assumed that is a good price ...especially considering the other models fell in the 340.00 area.

Again I don't need the most professional model but something better than a Sears special is what I was after. I always thought Husky was just that.

Good day all,

I have a Husky 55 rancher and could not be happier with it. It is a very good saw (has to be to survive me). I probably cut 30 cords of wood a year with it. I am happy it is not heavier.

Mark r, just make sure you bring it to the dealer after 25 hours for a tune up. Mine was running a little fast (dont want it to explode).

enjoy

Thanks Marc, that's what I wanted to hear. I was originally headed up to my Kioti dealership to buy as he carries Stihl and Echo I believe. I had seen two models that fit what I needed for I believe 339.00 and 359.00 respectively. I had to go into town (the opposite way) to Home Depot to get some weed killer/fertilizer so I said what they hay, I'll stop by TSC since it was there to see what the Husky offerings looked like. I saw the 455 on "sale" and all though it is more saw than I need the price of 379.00 for that much saw and what I thought of the Husky name seemed like a darn good buy. I won't cut a cord of wood in a year. Like I said before I cut fence posts and clean up work around the farm so it won't get 25 hours of use for a couple of years. But I will surely have it checked out every couple years none the less.

Most of the saws out there are ok. Husky owns Poulan and the Home Depot Huskys may be Poulan Hybrids. I cut tons of wood and Love my Stihls. Whats nice about the 20" bar is cutting downed branches without bending over all day.

Does Home Depot carry Husky? Mine only carry Homelite . . . which I had last year until I broke the handle which left a hole in the fuel tank. The Husky I bought today was from Tractor Supply.

HD doesn't carry Husky. TSC and Lowes do. I have 2 huskies and they never gave me any trouble. I have a 55 rancher and a 385XP. I would buy them again................

Afternoon Pat,
I own a Stihl 025 and 029, they are awesome saws and have cut loads of cordwood with them ! My buddy has a Husky and swears by it, its all in the hands of the beholder I guess ! ;) :)
Or, as the bartender says as the homely lady walks by, "Beauty is in the eye of the beerholder".
Have a wonderful Easter.
Pat

The local TSC and Lowes had the standard 455 for $399. The Husky dealer had the standard model for $395. I think you will find that dealers will be the same price or a few bucks lower than the box stores. I'm kicking myself now for not buying a few more chains at $10 a piece.

Hello all...just thought I would mention that I saw on another website (slickdeals.com) that currently TSC has the Husky 455 on sale for $379.00. Apparently if you take the ad or print out the info from TSC's webpage and tak it to Lowes they will price match it and beat it by 10%. So..what's that something like $350 for a 455?

Just thought I'd pass that along.
