I def. be interested in seeing a thread about what you've learned in the class.

I'll try to write up some of the stuff when I get a chance. It may be a while before I get to it. I hesitate also, because the real benefit was in seeing and doing some of the techniques. It's not the kind of stuff I could have learned very well from reading it. Also, knowing me, I'll leave out something crucial that I don't think of unless I staring at a tree with a chainsaw in my hands.

The "Game of Logging" course is offered all over the United States (and in other countries, I believe). The website of the company that offered my training is : Northeast Woodland Training . I had John Adler as my instructor... he was excellent! They are mainly in New England. Other companies offer it elsewhere.

I get so much SPAM that I probably deleted the message without opening it. Sorry! Why don't you activate the PM feature? If you want to try again rether than use PM, put accordianman in the subject line. I get about 80-90 SPAMS a day, so am pretty ruthless about not opening and then deleating anything where I don't recognize the sender.

I currently live in St. Louis County, but the almost completed new house, and tractor, is 7 mi. SW of Warrenton off of Hiway "U"

Is the Wright City Gun Club still around? Just got to shoot there once, and didn't know any one, but had a great time and by the time the day was over knew every one there. Nice folks.

Don't know about the Wright City Gun Club, but the St. Louis Benchrest Club moved from our previous location in North St. Louis County to Northwest of Wright City a few years back. We have about 700 acres, just across the line into Lincoln County. Rifle ranges out to 600 yards as well as shorter rifle and pistol ranges.

Let me know when you want to go! But let's wait 'till it's a little warmer, OK.

Hey you can deliver my RFM and then we can go shoot!

After trying to find a spot where I could mount some chain boxes on my BX220 I decided to put them on the front bumper I had made last summer, I used 4 inch square tubing mounted on 4 inch purling (both Left over from when they built my RV barn and used expanded metal to let the mud and water run out. they are 7" long and are 11 inches above the ground. Picture 1 is the bumper I made

And a front view with chain in them. The best thing about this mounting is that you can remove them if you don't need the chain.
Thanks again Jim for the very handy idea, I will keep my eye on you for your next great idea
