Most chains have the grade stamped onto the links. A trucker must have the chains with the stamped grade on them, to show he has the correct size chain for the loads weight. Anything not stamped is viewed as below grade 40. The hook must also show the same grade. Be wary of those Chinese made chains, the steel is not up to industry standards.
