Yes, the repainting usually looks VERY good on a recon. I have never heard of AC3 loaders, googled and came up dry.

The paint looks like it just rolled off of the showroom floor. Too bad they dont do as good of job on the innards.

Also, let me say that in no way, shape, or form do I believe that this tractor has only 74 hrs. I can't even believe it is the original paint. But my question is this. How good a paint job does the vm recon folks do? When this thing was repainted, they did a really good job. Is that normal? ... I look forward to any and all comments. thanks.
The 'VN rebuilts' have superb repaints. Everything about the tractor can be immaculate.

Long ago an importer posted here that he had about a man-month of labor applied to every tractor. (his claimed sales volume / claimed number of employees in VN).

Unrelated, but here's an example of how good a repaint can look: YM2762000 Red Deere (a bogus model number) on ebay right now. Click the pictures to full size. I don't see any clue that the tractor has already endured 30 years use.

That looks almost exactly like my YM1700. Another tip off that i have discovered is the chassis and engine paint is not the correct Yanmar color. I discovered this when i installed a water pump kit (genuine OEM parts). It is a darker green color with an almost grayish tint. The Yanmar green is a lighter color. "they look good but will they run"

All I saw on the fel was Ac3.

That's all you had to say. That 3110 was "reconditioned" in Vietnam by HHH / Vina / VN / HDI.... take your pick of names.... it's all the same company. So you know the clock was reset.

One good thing I can say is that they really do have great paint and body guys over there...expert turd polishers we call them....but be careful with your tools...drop a wrench on the fender or hood and you might find 3/8" thick Bond-O underneath that shiny red paint.

Cylinders on that loader are highly unreliable, and difficult to replace, btw.... well, unless it's an earlier one with "Shurlift" cylinders on it, which came from Canada and were good..... but I'm pretty sure that by the time the "ACx" labels appeared they were all coming with crappy in-house cylinders.

I've decided not to pursue the YM 3110d any further. If I can't learn from the experience on this website and the input of those on this thread, then I am wasting my time and possibly my money. I sometimes waste my time, but I rarely waste my money. I'm just too tight for that. I've been told I'm so tight that I squeek when I walk. Thanks everybody.

We had some pretty heated discussion with John a few years ago about Recons. It looks like their Austin location has switched to UTDA units.

That is interesting!! He was pretty ardent recon seller, but NOT now from the web site, that is great. I remember those rather heated exchanges:rolleyes:
